I was excited to join Minister Gardner at Brighton Secondary School for the announcement of $13.8 million funding for the school as part of the Marshall Government’s multi-million dollar investment in Education.
This funding is a wonderful windfall for our community and it ensures that as Year 7s move into High School, Brighton Secondary School’s specialist music and volleyball programs will continue to produce wonderful performers and athletes, and that the “Think Bright” program will produce our next generation of outstanding minds.
It doesn’t end there, Seaview High School will also receive a cash injection for infrastructure to support 420 new students and continue its outstanding achievements in recent years.
The Government are delivering a record investment in education, ensuring South Australian students get a world-class education in world-class schools.
More than $1 billion in capital works projects will be carried out throughout the state to build new schools and upgrade existing schools to meet enrolment demand and transition Year 7 to high school.
By 2022, South Australian students will no longer be left behind their counterparts in other states. Year 7 students will be given specialised learning in a high school setting, as designed in the national curriculum.
Our investment will help deliver the world-class education our students deserve.
