The first major tranche of $10,000 emergency cash grants are being deposited into the bank accouts of more than 1,000 small businesses and not-for-profits.
Local restaurants, cafes, gyms and fitness studios, beauty salons, homewares stores, hairdressers and dentists across our community are among those to benefit from the financial relief, having either suffered a significant loss of income or been forced to close as a result of COVID-19 and the necessary restrictions to help limit its spread.

It was on for the young and old at the 2020 annual Brighton Jetty Classic! Competitors ranging from 7 to 70 and beyond took part in South Australia's largest open water swim. It was a day full of action with a surf boat carnival, street festival, food trucks with live music and entertainment.Read more
Each year I invite all Primary Schools in our local community to participate in my annual Christmas Card Competition. The winners get to see their artwork turned into one of my Community Christmas Cards which I send far and wide. Winners also receive a few to send to their own family and friends.Read more
On 28 August 2019 in recognition of National Meals on Wheels Day I had the pleasure of visiting and thanking the wonderful volunteers at the Meals on Wheels SA at Brighton and Warradale. On Saturday 25 May I attended the official opening of the Oaklands Estate Reserve Upgrade. Despite the rain and cold weather, it was fantastic to see how the upgrades have blended with nature and created a beautiful reserve for all ages to enjoy. These people work tirelessly to improve and serve our local area but are often not formally recognised. It is often the lesser known efforts that make the biggest difference to the lives of others.
