I was honoured to speak at the City of Holdfast Bay Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony at Glenelg Foreshore recently.
With clear skies and a fantastic view, it was a perfect day to meet and celebrate with the 80 new Australian Citizens from my local community. With residents coming from all around the world, including China, Germany, India and the United Kingdom, it shows just how much of a multicultural nation Australia has become. Since 1945, seven million people have migrated to Australia and one in four Australians were born overseas. Over at the Marion RSL, a further 33 people became Australian Citizens and were warmly congratulated by my State and Federal colleagues, Nicolle Flint MP, the Hon David Speirs MP and Stephen Patterson MP.Read more

Hamilton Park Reserve – Community Consultation
As many of you already know, the State Government has delivered funding in the amount of $180,000 to the City of Marion to construct a new automated toilet block at Hamilton Avenue Reserve.
I am sure you will all agree that this will be a great addition to the Reserve, allowing more people and families in the community an opportunity to enjoy nature in their own backyard. It has also prompted the City of Marion to look at redeveloping this wonderful open space and I urge everyone get along to the Community Consultation being held at the Reserve this Sunday, 2 December 2018 from 4 - 5pm.
Alternatively, if you can’t make it and would like to share your thoughts and ideas on what should happen on the Reserve, head to www.makingmarion.com.au/hamilton-park-reserve.Read more
