One step closer to a solution

After years of campaigning to Fix Oaklands Crossing and more recently working hard with the new Federal member for Boothby Nicolle Flint and David Speirs MP, I was delighted for our community when Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull announced $40 million towards this project a month ago.

In the wake of that commitment it now appears that Premier Weatherill and the State Labor Government have finally seen the importance in Fixing Oaklands Crossing.

I look forward to continuing to work with the Federal member for Boothby and the Federal Minister for Urban Infrastructure Paul Fletcher in finalising the deal with the state government to deliver this project.

I have been in contact with both Nicolle and Minister Fletcher to reiterate my support for this project and to indicate my willingness to work with the Federal Government while the funding agreement and plans come to light.

As always thank you to the many members of the community who have added their voices to this important campaign. This has been a long time coming and it is a big project. I have no doubt that your continued and ongoing support has contributed to bringing awareness to the crossing and encouraging the State Government to finally act on this project.

Keep an eye on for continued updates on the campaign.
