The 12th annual Brighton Jetty Sculptures exhibition is a major fundraiser for the Brighton Surf Life Saving Club and a premier art event showcasing more than 200 sculptures. 90 of these are situated on the foreshore and in a marquee on Bindarra Reserve.
I was honoured to attend the official opening of the exhibition, together with the Governor, His Excellency the Honourable Hieu Van Le AC, Federal Member for Boothby, Nicolle Flint MP, State Member for Black, the Hon David Speirs MP, State Member for Morphett, Stephen Patterson and Amanda Wilson, Mayor - Holdfast Bay on Wednesday 23 January 2019.
From 23 January to 3 February 2019, the sculptures will be on display and up for sale in support of the Brighton Surf Life Saving Club.
Indoor sculptures will be located at the Surf Club’s club rooms on the corner of Bindarra Road and Esplanade, from 8am to 8pm and the outdoor sculptures can be viewed 24/7.
For the first time since the launch of this event, children’s sculptures will also feature in businesses along Jetty Road.
Make sure you head down to Brighton Beach to have a look at the many wonderful artworks!
