As works progress at Oaklands Crossing, the Project Team is starting to gear up for the second traffic switch in early October. Following completion of the October Long Weekend works, traffic will be diverted to the western side of the road, so construction can begin on the eastern side of the bridge.
This is another major milestone on the Project Timeline and brings us another step closer to seeing the completion of such an exciting and important upgrade for our local community.
October Long Weekend Works
From midnight Friday 28 September through to 6.00am Tuesday 2 October, there will be a lot of activity in and around the site. Works will include installing major electrical, gas and telecommunications services, as well as signalling, overhead wire and road diversion works. Please note there will also be road closures, detours and lane restrictions in place during this time, as well as the usual speed reductions. There will also be some driveway access restrictions, however Traffic Controllers will be on site to assist and the Project Team will door knock all affected properties prior to works commencing.
Due to the sizeable amount of materials and equipment required over the October Long Weekend, a section of the car park on Railway Terrace will be closed from Wednesday night, 26 September until the morning of Tuesday 2 October for storage purposes.
Locations of the key work are shown on the map below:
Seaford Line Closure

Substitute buses will run between Adelaide and Brighton, with trains continuing between Brighton and Seaford. Substitute buses in Oaklands Park will depart from Morphett Road at Stop 29 West (citybound) and Stop 29 East (to Brighton).
