I just wanted to let you know about the progress on the “Fix Oaklands Crossing” project since my last update.
Since the State Election there has been progress including community consultation sessions and, as you may have seen, fences have been erected and the site is being set up on the south eastern side of the crossing to house the workers and machinery with work due to start in coming weeks.
Before the end of July, the project will see old car parks removed, new temporary and permanent car parks installed, vegetation removed and utility services relocated.
By September of this year, work will have started to divert Morphett Road east, build the western side of the overpass and excavate the area needed to create the lowered train station and rail corridor.
Stakeholder engagement has continued with key groups in the immediate vicinity of the intersection and more announcements about that are expected very soon.
As part of the Marshall Liberal Government we are focused on delivering on our election commitments and this is one of the key priorities for our community.
As we have discussed throughout the “Fix Oaklands Crossing” campaign our community is aware there will be some inconvenience at stages during this building process but we must keep our eye on the long desired outcome.
I look forward to keeping you updated throughout the journey, through this website and via the 'Fix Oaklands Crossing' e-newsletter as this project progresses.
