Since the last listening post on 25 September 2015 I have been following up with the Government to see what plans they have for the Oaklands Crossing, and also called for further discussions with the Minister. Unfortunately, the Government has not been forthcoming with that information.
We would like to work with the Government to find the best way to fix the crossing, however our paths are continuously getting road-blocked. It has now gotten to the stage where there are fears that the Government does not have any plans. However, we will keep pushing to find out more, and as we receive any information it will be passed on to the community. Key to this process is the active engagement from the community so that we can all work together to place pressure on the Government to show us their plans for fixing the crossing.
Our next listening post is on Saturday the 31st of October at the Marion Shopping Centre outside of kmart, between 9:30am and 11am. After that we will have another listening post on the 10th of November, and again on the 20th of November. If you are available to help out and engage the wider community, please contact my office at firstname.lastname@example.org or 08 8377 3500
