Road Resurfacing on Majors Road

Resurfacing works are finally beginning on Lonsdale Highway and Majors Road.  These roads have been in poor condition for too long and it is good to see the government is finally listening to our requests, however there is still more that needs to be done.

$50m Train Oversupply

A Cabinet document has come across my desk and it points that out and in fact the then-Transport Minister Tom Koutsantonis who wrote this document said ‘We only need 16 of these new electric cars plus a spare to service southern lines’ and we’re about to get our 22nd so that’s five trains more than we need at about $10m a train, that’s $50m that have been spent on trains that won’t get used on the South Australian Adelaide Metro network.

Train Strikes More Chaos

Wage negotiations between the Government and the Transport Workers Union have been going on for more than 18 months.  The Weatherill Labor Government’s inaction lead to the tram driver’s strike on the 11th of June.  The strike lead to commuter chaos, happening during University Exam time, students dependent on public transport had to face yet another (avoidable stress) on the way to their exams.
