Dr HARVEY (Newland) (14:23): My question is to the Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing. Can the minister inform the house how the Marshall government is providing funding to local sporting clubs to acquire vital life-saving equipment such as defibrillators?
The Hon. C.L. WINGARD (Gibson—Minister for Police, Emergency Services and Correctional Services, Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing) (14:24): I thank the member for Newland for his very good question and note his keen interest in that. WINGARD (Gibson—Minister for Police, Emergency Services and Correctional Services, Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing) (15:18): I rise today to talk about this wonderful budget that was handed down that is really building South Australia, a commitment we made when we came to this parliament. There are so many things in the budget that outline what we are doing to build our great state. I want to address one that has significance in my local community and also that of the Minister for Environment, the member for Black, and something we have been fighting hard for a very long period of time: the Hove crossing.Read more
This morning marks a major win for our community, with funding announced for the grade separation of the Hove Railway Crossing at Brighton Road. This is a giant step forward to fixing traffic congestion and improving safety along the Brighton Road Corridor.
I had the pleasure to meet with the Premier Steven Marshall MP, Minister for Transport, the Hon Stephen Knoll MP, the Hon David Speirs MP and Federal Member for Boothby Nicolle Flint MP this morning to announce that $171 million has been jointly secured by the Marshall and Morrison Governments.
The Hon. C.L. WINGARD (Gibson—Minister for Police, Emergency Services and Correctional Services, Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing) (12:10): I, too, rise today in support of this motion moved by the member for Hurtle Vale, and thank her for doing so. The motion:

The Hon. C.L. WINGARD (Gibson—Minister for Police, Emergency Services and Correctional Services, Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing) (14:19): I thank the member for Newland for the question and note that he is a very big advocate for road safety in his community. In fact, I know he has contacted my office a number of times around some issues in his community, and the member for Newland's engagement with SAPOL has proactively got policing out on Hancock Road, Bowen Road and Elizabeth Street in Tea Tree Gully and Milne Road in Ridgehaven. I thank him very much for that fine work that he is doing in his community. Those extra patrols have made sure that he is keeping his community safe, and he does an outstanding job with that.Read more
