Thanks to everyone that has supported the campaign over the past few years.
This has been an issue in our community for decades and to finally have a solution is a great outcome and proof that a community campaign, and everyone working together, can deliver a great result.
Yesterday's announcement of a new train underpass to fix Oaklands Crossing involves $95 million dollars from the Federal Liberal Government ($55 million added to the $40 million committed by Federal Member for Boothby Nicolle Flint at last year's election), $74.3 million dollars from the State Government and $5 million from the Marion Council.
Having grown up in Oaklands Park I have been aware of this issue since I was a teenager working at Westfield Marion and like all those who have been constantly delayed at this intersection I feel a sense of achievement that we have helped deliver a solution.
Community support and continued pressure for a solution has resulted in this excellent outcome for the community.
