At the last election I made several key commitments to the electorate of Gibson.
I am proud to say that the following election promises have been delivered for our local community:
- Bowker Street
- Hamilton Reserve
- Crown Street
I am excited to announce that the Marshall Government, in conjunction with the City of Holdfast Bay, have signed and secured the Bowker Street Oval as a community recreation space for the next 20 years.
This is a fantastic open space for the residents and sporting clubs of our community and I look forward to seeing more people enjoy the oval long into the future
Securing Bowker Street Oval means local sports clubs can continue to use the oval for their regular activities, and the barbecue facilities and playground will remain accessible for families in the area.
I’m committed to maintaining quality grassroots sports infrastructure for the local community and I look forward to seeing this important community oval utilised for many years to come.
I am pleased to announce that $180,000 in funding has been delivered to the City of Marion in order to construct a new automated toilet block at Hamilton Park Reserve. This is such a fantastic outcome for our community!
Hamilton Park Reserve is a wonderful open space for people and families to have fun, use the playground and have a BBQ.
By adding an automated toilet block, this will make the park a place people can spend all day, not just an hour or two.
Another great win for our community – Crown Street Reserve!
After door knocking in the local area, holding a community meeting and listening to residents I am excited to let you know that the Marshall Liberal Government has now delivered funding in the amount of $40,000.00 to the City of Marion to go towards a 3 on 3 basketball court as part of the redevelopment of Crown Street Reserve in Dover Gardens.
As you will agree, the Crown Street Reserve has been underutilised for far too long and this is a great step in revitalising the area.
I would like to thank everyone in the local area for giving me the opportunity to deliver such an important project to the community. I also hope that this financial injection will inspire the Marion Council focus on returning the space to its former glory.
