On Friday 20 September I attended the official opening of the Crown Street Reserve Upgrade in Dover Gardens. Prior to the rain setting in, it was exciting to see how well this upgrade has created a recreation space for everyone to enjoy. I feel extremely privileged to have helped deliver this project for our community.
Having seen first hand how dry and unappealing this space was during the summer months, I spoke with local residents who all made it clear they wanted a clean, attractive community recreational facility in this area. Following the 2018 State election, I was therefore proud to commit $40,000 for a 3-on-3 basketball court on behalf of the Marshall Government. This also lead to other improvements being included as part of the overall project, including a netball goal circle, paths and seating.
For those that like technology, SA Water has also installed one of their new Smart Water Fountains. This newly designed water station automatically monitors the water use and feeds messages back to SA Water to advise when there is a fault or when it is time to be cleaned.
I urge everyone to get on down and enjoy this new space in Dover Gardens.
