COVID-19 lockdown for 6 days

On the advice of SA Health, from midnight tonight, South Australia will be on a 6 day pause with the introduction of new restrictions to get ahead of the Parafield Cluster.

This means all non-essential workers must stay home and only leave when necessary, such as for groceries and medical supplies.

These measures are being taken to reduce community transmission and avoid the long lockdown we saw in Victoria recently.

I know the lockdown will be challenging for many in our community, but the alternative is the virus escapes into the wider community forcing an even longer lockdown.

For more information about the latest COVID-19 announcements, please visit the State Government's website covid-19.sa.gov.au or phone the SA COVID-19 Information Line on 1800 253 787.

I will continue to keep our community updated with more announcements over the coming days. To join my COVID-19 update mailing list, please email my team to be added.

I sincerely thank you for working together - we WILL get through this.
