Congratulating our Year 12 graduates and some talented little artists

With the end of Term 4 fast approaching, most students are looking forward to Christmas and summer holidays!  However, Year 12 students have been completing their final exams and looking forward to their next steps in life.  I always look forward to congratulating the Year 12s from Brighton Secondary School, Westminster School and Seaview High School, and hearing about their plans for the future.

I also got the chance to catch up with Sarah (one half of the “Marilyns”) recently to present her with the funds raised through my annual Winter Warmer fundraiser with David Speirs MP.

I want to thank everyone in our generous community for making this donation possible.  The Marilyns are also filming a documentary about their journey, and I urge everyone to keep a watch out for it when it hits a theatre near you in 2020!

Last, but not least, with less than 5 weeks till Christmas, I recently picked the winners of my annual Christmas Card Competition.  Congratulations to April and Levi from Stella Maris Parish School and Charlotte from Marion Primary School for their fantastic artwork.  Unfortunately Levi wasn’t at school that day, but I look forward to catching up with him next time I visit Stella Maris.

Fix Brighton Road – Hove Crossing

The team who helped complete our successful Oaklands Crossing Project, Public Transport Projects Alliance (“PTPA”) has been engaged to undertake the Planning Study and community engagement process as part of the Hove Crossing Project.

The Planning Study has commenced with the first round of community consultation closing on Monday, 25 November 2019.  If you would like to share your views, you can fill out the survey using the following link:

The feedback received will help shape the concept plan, which will be released in the first half of 2020.

To keep up to date on the project, head to and sign up to receive my e-news.
