Bush Fire Appeals

Sadly we have witnessed another devastating bushfire in our state. Like last year, our local community feels somewhat removed from the northern region and there is a sense of helplessness as we watch our fellow South Australians battle through such horrendous circumstances.

Here are some of the organisations and groups that are coordinating relief and appeals to help and support those affected. Please note that this list is not exhaustive and will be updated as new information comes to light.

Salvation Army

The Salvation Army are asking for cash donations at this time so that help can be provided where it is most needed.

Volunteering SA & NT

Volunteering SA NT are taking registrations from anyone in the community who could be available to help with the clean-up.

My Electorate Office

In an effort to help I will again set my office up as a donation centre where people can deliver non-perishable food to help those in crisis situations. It is only a small thing but it is a way we can help those in need at such a terrible time.

Closer to home we are also supporting the Target Uniting Care Christmas Appeal. These two organisations have partnered to help ensure no child misses out on the joy of opening a Christmas Present. If you can’t make it to a Target to drop off a present, please feel free to leave a gift at my office.

Given the devastation of the current bush fires in South Australia’s mid-north and Barossa regions so early into the bush fire risk season, Christmas appeals will be more important than ever this year.
