BREAKING NEWS: $5 million federal funding to deliver the Brighton Oval Complex in full!

Over the weekend we had an exciting announcement from the Federal Member for Boothby, Nicolle Flint MP, that her and the Federal Government will deliver the much-needed second stage of the upgrade to the Brighton Sports Complex.

Together with the Federal Minister for Sport, Senator the Hon Bridget McKenzie, the Premier of South Australia the Hon Steven Marshall MP, the Hon David Speirs MP, Stephen Patterson MP, Mayor of the City of Holdfast Bay, Amanda Wilson and myself, Nicolle announced $5 million in federal funding towards the redevelopment of this community space.

The funding will provide new sport and recreation facilities for the 1400 current users of the site as well as the local community.

I believe in our local sporting club, and this significant funding is just the support Brighton Sports Complex needs to future proof the site, continue growth, promote active participation and create new opportunities for the clubs and our community.

The funding announcement made by Nicolle Flint MP, together with previously committed funding from the Marshall Liberal Government and the City of Holdfast Bay, brings the total combined investment in the project to $13 million.

This is a fantastic win for the Brighton Bombers Football Club, Brighton Rugby Union Football Club, Brighton Cricket Club, Brighton Lacrosse Club and Brighton Croquet Club.

What a fantastic team effort and proof of what can be delivered when Local, State and Federal government work together with our clubs and community.
