I recently had the pleasure of presenting funding to many local clubs within our community including Brighton Bowling Club, Brighton Cricket Club, Brighton Lacrosse Club, Marion Rams Cricket Club, South City Chiefs, Marion Mall Walkers, Henley Sharks Water Polo Club and Veterans Cricket SA as part of Round 46 of the Active Club Program.
The funds received by these clubs will go a long way to helping them purchase new sporting equipment and offer programs which will ensure ongoing growth and active participation within their clubs.
Since 1996, the Active Club Program has provided $46.9 million through more than 10,000 grants to local community organisations. Participating in sport and recreational activities is an important and enjoyable part of life for many South Australians.
Round 47 of the program is now open for applications. Clubs can apply for grants of up to $25,000 to assist with facility upgrades, or grants of up to $5000 to assist with program and equipment funding.
