Tonight, I hosted new citizens and their families at Parliament House to celebrate their citizenship.
It was rewarding to meet such a diverse group of new citizens, some of whom have lived in Australia for decades, while others have been here for just a few years.
After sharing nibbles and drinks, I led the group on a tour through Parliament House showing them the House of Assembly and the Legislative Council.
Kids in the group were particularly excited to hear about the red line on the House of Assembly's floor, known as the blood line!
A massive welcome and congratulations to our wonderful new citizens!
