COVID-19 restrictions update

We have reached a critical point in our fight against COVID-19 and it's vital that South Australia takes pre-emptive action to keep our state safe and strong.

Outbreaks of the highly transmissible Delta strain occurring in multiple Australian jurisdictions are putting us at risk.

From midnight tonight, restrictions will be reintroduced in South Australia and reassessed after seven days.

These include:

  • Masks required in high-risk settings including residential aged care facilities, hospitals and personal care settings.
  • Limit of 150 people at private gatherings.
  • Density requirement of one person per two square metres.
  • Seated consumption of food and drink at venues, indoors.

A full list of restrictions will be uploaded shortly to the government's COVID-19 website:

Now, more than ever, we need EVERY South Australian getting tested if they have symptoms, using QR code check-ins and getting vaccinated if eligible.

We have already demonstrated that by working together we can keep South Australia safe and strong.

In the face of this latest challenge, I know we can do it again.

Thank you for your support.
