It was a pleasure to attend and speak at the Official Opening of the Brighton Oval Complex today.
Upgrades include three new purpose-built clubrooms, unisex changerooms, new signage and an electronic scoreboard, and upgraded community facilities such as the skatepark.
Along the way, many local champions have emerged to see this project completed, in particular champions from the local clubs who use this space.
I'm extremely grateful to those people who include current local sports club presidents Jason Webb, Travis Kelleske, Scott Phillips, Kevin Bailie, and past presidents Wayne Londema and Kym Steer.
City of Holdfast Bay Mayor, Amanda Wilson, and the Federal Member for Boothby, Nicolle Flint MP, have likewise been outstanding in securing funding and seeing this project to its end.
This oval is so important both to local sport and to local residents. I can't wait to see it used in the future!
