Civics in action at Christ the King School

It's always a pleasure to teach local school students about the roles, responsibilities and daily life of a Member of Parliament.

As part of their curriculum, students learn about civics and the role of local MPs in the parliamentary process.

Although our original plan to give students from Christ the King School a tour of Parliament House had to be cancelled owing to COVID-19 restrictions, it was still a pleasure to visit their Year 5 classroom today.

As I delivered a presentation to students, I was very impressed by students’ understanding of civics, their engagement in the content, and their thoughtful questions.

A massive thanks to students at Christ the King School for their participation and to their fantastic teacher Ms Genevieve Spencer for the invitation.
