I was recently invited to a birthday party at Sturt Palms Retirement Village, Brighton. It was a very special occasion with Sturt Palm’s oldest resident, Geoffrey Edmonds, turning 100 years old.
Surrounded by fellow residents and good food, Geoffrey regaled us with stories from his incredible life. As well as living all over the world, he’s had a lifelong interest in the music and once played the Spanish guitar for Nana Mouskouri!
Geoffrey told me that the secret to a long and happy life was good music. For someone with such an interest in good music, it was entirely fitting that his birthday cake featured a stunning guitar.
A massive thankyou to Melissa, the Sturt Palms manager, who organised the birthday party, and all the staff who put on a delicious morning tea to contribute to the positive atmosphere.
Congratulations on this milestone, Geoffrey!
