About

Thanks to everyone that has supported the FIX OAKLANDS CROSSING campaign over the past few years.

This has been an issue in our community for decades and to finally have a solution is a great outcome and proof that a community campaign, and everyone working together, can deliver a great result.

The announcement in June this year of a new train underpass to fix Oaklands Crossing involves $95 million dollars from the Federal Liberal Government ($55 million added to the $40 million committed by Federal Member for Boothby Nicolle Flint at last year's election), $74.3 million dollars from the State Government and $5 million from the Marion Council.

Having grown up in Oaklands Park I have been aware of this issue since I was a teenager working at Westfield Marion and like all those who have been constantly delayed at this intersection, I feel a sense of achievement that we have helped deliver a solution.

Community support and continued pressure for a solution has resulted in this excellent outcome for the community.
